Enjoy the scenic drive out to Kaufman County to discover Heartland, a unique 2,000-acre master-planned community that offers something for everyone. Named the Community of the Year in 2009 by the Homebuilders Association of Greater Dallas, Heartland offers world-class amenities, gorgeous natural scenery and a relaxed, small-town pace, all within a short drive of the big city.
Heartland includes more than 400 acres of parks, picnic areas and hike-and-bike trails, plus a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, a tot pool and a fun-filled pirate’s cove playground, plus baseball and soccer fields, and a basketball court. At the heart of the community, a 35-acre stocked lake features a picturesque fishing pier, a winding trail system and pedestrian bridges that connect each home to the range of amenities. Throughout the year, programmed events are designed to bring together families and friends from across Heartland.
Heartland is located 25 miles east of Downtown Dallas, with easy access to Interstate 20. The community is only a short drive to many of DFW’s major employment centers and entertainment districts.
Heartland is part of the highly-acclaimed Crandall Independent School District. The innovative trail system that connects the community amenities also reaches Barbara Walker Elementary and will join six additional on-site schools. The new schools are planned to be located at the center of the community to give students and parents safe and convenient walking access.
Heartland is proud to be a part of the Heartland Education Foundation, which was established to financially support neighborhood schools. The foundation is funded by ½ of 1 percent tax on every real estate transaction in Heartland and provides enhanced educational opportunities for Heartland students, such as innovative programming, technology, equipment and art programs.
